GALE CARTER, Co-Recipient of the First Abroe-Carter Award for Teaching Excellence

We are so pleased to announce that Gale Carter was presented with this impressive award at a banquet of the Teacher Institute on Saturday, July 18th. These two remarkable educators were the first recipients of the Abroe-Carter Award for Teaching Excellence.

In their announcement to Gale Carter, the Civil War Trust stated: “We are very excited about this new award we created and the work you have done with your students reflects the kind of hands-on, inquiry, primary source based teaching we like to see. This award will be given to teachers, in the future, like yourself who bring creativity, imagination, and rigor to their instruction of the Civil War. CONGRATULATIONS!!!”
