NATIONAL FOCUS: Commemorating 9-11 from the Library of Congress
Based on a similar project created after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the September 11 Documentary Project documents eyewitness accounts, expressions of grief and other commentary on the events of September 11, 2001. Included in this presentation are photographs, drawings, audio and video interviews and written narratives. Of special interest are interviews with people who were in Naples, Italy at the time of the attacks.

==>We have one more very special announcement about another of our alumni, Gale Carter!
The Education Department at the Civil War Trust has developed an award for Teaching Excellence that is named after Gale Carter, a TPS-GSU Alumni and teacher at East Chicago High School, and one of their board members, Mary Abroe, who is an enthusiastic supporter of their educational mission.
We are so pleased to announce that Gale Carter was presented with this impressive award at a banquet of the Teacher Institute on Saturday, July 18th. These two remarkable educators were the first recipients of the Abroe-Carter Award for Teaching Excellence.
In their announcement to Gale Carter, the Civil War Trust stated: “We are very excited about this new award we created and the work you have done with your students reflects the kind of hands-on, inquiry, primary source based teaching we like to see. This award will be given to teachers, in the future, like yourself who bring creativity, imagination, and rigor to their instruction of the Civil War. CONGRATULATIONS!!!”
The entire TPS-GSU Team joins in offering enthusiastic congratulations to you, Gale!
